Description
The house you are about to view is located in the attractive, authentic Spanish village of Topares. Topares is a subdivision of Vélez Blanco and lies between the nature parks of Sierra María los Vélez and Sierra de Castril. It is a pleasant village with friendly inhabitants. The house is located on a quiet street with well-maintained houses. The owner tells us that the shaded area across the street does not belong to the house, but that no-one will mind if you put your chair there to enjoy the shade. There is a good chance that one of your neighbours will join you for a chat. The house actually consists of two dwellings, which can easily be connected. The left part is a cave house, the right part is the main house. Let´s start in the main house. You enter the house in the dining kitchen. The layout shows how the Spaniards live. A simply equipped kitchen, neatly arranged, with in the middle a round table with tablecloth and a group of chairs around it. In winter, a tin bucket with hot coals is placed under the table and the family sits around the table to bask in the warmth that comes from under the tablecloth. To the left of the kitchen you will find the first bathroom, through which you can make a passage to the cave dwelling with minimal work. Before we go to see this second house, let´s go upstairs. On the upper floor you will find two spacious bedrooms. These have been very nicely refurbished, and also the roof has been completely renovated in August 2020. We now walk through to the cave house. We enter the dining-living room which has a fireplace where you can easily place a stove. Note the atmosphere in this room, with the authentic built-in cupboards, the thick walls and the shape of the ceiling. This room has also been recently finished and repainted. If we go to the left, we come to a bathroom that is spacious enough to accommodate your washing machine. Mind you, the ceiling in the cave house is not as high as in the main house. From the dining-living room we come to the sleeping area. Here you will find a large and a slightly smaller bedroom. There is still the possibility to extend the large bedroom. The owner has closed off the back part of the cave. He says that there is still a space behind here that is big enough for a walk-in wardrobe. Now we have seen the house, but there is more. Behind the house is a large storage room, the roof of which has also recently been replaced. Behind the house there is also more than 100 m2 of land that can be turned into a beautiful garden. If you are looking for a beautiful and affordable home in an authentic Spanish village, then a visit to this property is definitely worthwhile.
